Ydych chi’n adnabod rhywun gallai gael ei enwebu ar gyfer y Categori Diogelu yn Nyrs y Flwyddyn 2018 y Coleg Nyrsio Brenhinol yng Nghymru? 

Os felly rhannwch eu stori a rhowch iddynt y gydnabyddiaeth y maent yn eu haeddu – enwebwch hwy yng nghategori Diogelu Nyrs y flwyddyn yng ngwobrau’r RCN yng Nghymru eleni a noddwyd gan y Bwrdd Diogelu Annibynnol Cenedlaethol  

Mae pob nyrs a bydwraig gofrestredig sy’n ymarfer yng Nghymru, myfyrwyr nyrsio cyn cofrestru a gweithwyr cymorth gofal iechyd ar draws pob sector, yn gymwys i gystadlu.

Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer enwebiadau yw 24 Mehefin 2018. 

 

Safeguarding Award

Safeguarding is about protecting children and adults from abuse, harm or neglect and educating those around them to recognise the signs and dangers. One of the fundamental principles of safeguarding is that it is everyone’s responsibility.

Nurses and midwives active in safeguarding can be found in all areas of clinical practice, at all levels and across all sectors.

About the award: This award aims to recognise a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife who has made an outstanding contribution to the safeguarding of children and/or adults at risk under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 via a service improvement that enables protection against abuse and neglect within communities.

 

Who can be nominated?

A Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife who is:
• Working at any level within a service, educational or policy role within Wales
• Practising within the Independent and Third sectors, NHS, or Local Authority

 

Criteria

  • Able to demonstrate that their work is commensurate with national policy and strategy within health and social care
  • Through effective leadership able to demonstrate a positive contribution to a service improvement that enables protection against abuse and neglect within communities
  • Use of a credible evidence-base and/ or are developing an evidence base to under pin their work for the project for which they are being nominated
  • Able to demonstrate a safe governance framework for the service or innovation being described for which they are being nominated
  • Able to clearly demonstrate the benefits the work has had for clients, families and colleagues
  • Through service evaluation, service user feedback, involvement and / or other means, is able to demonstrate a positive impact
  • Able to demonstrate leadership of an approach which promotes the safeguarding agenda
  • Show passion for the nursing profession by going the “extra mile” demonstrating a “can do” positive attitude
